My mom had her amaryills bloom about 4 weeks ago and now it’s done. This is the first time we had ever seen an amaryills and first time ever having one. What do you suggest doing now with the bulb?
Hey Jessica-
Here’s the lowdown on what you “should” do:
1.) Trim the green growth back to the original bulb.
2.) Wrap in a dark plastic bag and put it in your fridge to “winterize” it.
3.) Keep it in there until December.
4.) Replant as you did this year.
Now….. I’ve never tried this method before nor do I have a lot of fridge space to spare. So, I’m not sure I’m going to go thru this process but if I do, I will be sure to post it on my site.
