father’s day cards

Father's Day Card

My new favorite thing in card making is hand stitching with embroidery floss. My mom and I got really into it last Christmas break when we found some stencils at our fav craft store in up north Wisco. Since then, it’s definitely become more popular. I did a little web fishing and I found makeandtakes.com which had this super duper cutie tie pattern. It was fun and easy to make. So easy that I did it during a Friday night girlie wine night. Sorry, Doug for spilling wine on yours….

“beachy” bridal shower invitation

final

My girlfriend needed a invitation in a pinch for her bridal shower. Weddings are like my favorite thing in the world so of course I jumped at the opportunity to help. I always make 3 different versions of something I make so the person can pick but my first one is always the best. Of course she loved the first one too!

paper flowers

These flowers make a huge difference when decorating for a party. I made these a few years ago for a “Mexican Themed Baby Shower” at work. They are going to get some more mileage this summer at a bridal shower I’m helping throw.

Guest Comment Card

In my guest goodie baskets I place a comment card for every guest to fill out prior to leaving. It’s a fun way of keeping track of visitors thru the years. Some are serious, some are not so serious. My favs are of the “not so” variety. My favorite to date is… “Favorite part of my stay: Sleeping with your husband.” I slide them all in a scrapbook for safe keeping.

be my valentine

My nephew Eric (Edog) and I had some fun crafting with finger paint. Once he went to bed, I cut hearts out of his masterpieces and put together valentines for his parents to send out. A few weeks later I got my valentine in the mail personalized with his picture. Once he’s able, I plan on naming him the Chief Executive of the Finger Painting painting division of SYD.

sharing the christmas spirit with the neighborhood

neighborcards

I’ve recently moved to a new “hood”, neighborhood that is. All our mailboxes are at the end of the road so I stuffed holiday cards wishing everyone the happiest of the ho ho ho days. I made this card by cutting a piece of white cardstock in half and stamping it with a holiday stamp.

A cool wedding recipe sticker from EKSuccess slapped on cardstock, trimmed then glued on a card makes a great and easy shower card.
